Taliban Former Foreign Minister: Its Too Late for Peace

Wakeel Ahmad Mawtawakil the former foreign minister during the Taliban regime has said that now it’s too late for peace talks between the Afghan government and Taliban, according a Dari-language Afghan daily.

He said the peace draft that recently been made by the Afghan government is very much late proposed, according to a report in the Dari-language newspaper Roznama Mandegar.

Hamid Karzai recently announced that they have made a peace draft which will be put forward for more discussion in the London conference, scheduled for January 28th this year.

Even peace talks with Taliban have been proposed by Afghan government and international community since several years but Taliban foreign minister accuses the officials for superficial attitude toward peace adding that peace talks issue is just been used as motto by Afghan government.

Recently Robert Gates, the US secretary of Defense has said that peace talks with Mullah Omer is impossible but Wakeel Ahmad Mawtawakil called these words the words of no confidence on Taliban. He added that this no confidence between Taliban and America prolonged the war in Afghanistan.

He insisted that America understands that the distance between them and America become very much increased now a day.

He pointed to the UN black list and added that this black list made a big obstacle against peace and reconciliation process. In regard to the moderate Taliban he pointed to that Pashtu-language proverb that sweets and candies are not distributed in the battle field. He said it not possible to divide Taliban into moderate and severe in this war condition.

In regard to the new peace draft made by the Afghan government he said if there is any thing new in this draft then it’s ok but if all the things are old then it won’t have any result without wasting the time.

He also said that special focus should be on peace talks rather than fights in London conference. He concluded that foreign troops should leave the war and work together with the government of Afghanistan to find better ways for peace and reconciliations if not this current crisis will continue.

Afghan Editorial: Afghan Defense and Interior Ministers Should Resign

Several terrorists entered Kabul city yesterday and targeted the civilian property and innocent people. This attack started with small and heavy weapons shooting from the top roof of a shopping center located close to the presidential palace and continued by suicide attacks in different parts of the city.

Ambulance is also used in these coordinated suicide attacks. Terrorists’ attacks with these equipments show that some government officials also helped with these terrorists. Terrorists entered the Kabul city with suicide vests, rocket grenades and weapons by all those routs which are carefully been monitored by police. Or maybe these terrorists might be equipped inside the city.

If the security belts around this city is carefully made, monitored and all the vehicles are being checked so it wont be possible for terrorists to enter the city with suicide vests and rocket propelled grenades inside the city and launch the big scale terrorist attacks.

The ministers of interior and defense, who are recently approved once again by the MPs through any possible deal, remember that no body could have the courage to enter even leaflets to Kabul city during the Taliban or Communist regimes in the past.

But today even though more than 30 countries have troops inside Afghanistan, Taliban could easily enter to the heart of the Kabul city with different kinds of weapons and threat those who are living inside the presidential palace.

On the other hand Taliban conducted this operation while President Hamid Karzai has almost completed a peace draft with Taliban and will bring it to discussion in the London conference.

Taliban with yesterday’s attack replied to Karzai’s this new peace proposal with no which means that they are not ready to sit for peace talks because they have specific aims in Afghanistan.

The Afghan government instead of the killing of the terrorists acting diplomatically with terrorists released them from prisons and did not reward them perfectly.

This incapable policy of the government caused the big presence of terrorists in the battle field and spread the insecurity much more than before.

Because of these points the following things are to propose:

1- Both ministers of interior and defense must resign as soon as possible and those should come instead of them who are capable to defeat the enemy.
2- Instead of peace draft with Taliban, ways to eradicate the terrorists should be discussed in the London conference.
3- Britain and their spies are supporting the Taliban and there for they must not be let to rescue the leaders of the Taliban.

If these three suggestions are not accepted we will be witnesses of more such attacks in Kabul and security officials will turn them in their success in order to keep their posts in the government.

Afghan Daily: Taliban Doesn’t Have Authority of Negotiations But ISI Does

President Hamid Karzai once again proposed peace talks with Taliban. But this time Hamid Karzai wanted from the international community to help him make this negotiation productive.

Anytime Afghan government proposed peace talks with Taliban, Taliban have rejected these peace talks and added that they will not participate in these talks if foreign forces do not withdraw from Afghanistan.

We think as we said before that Taliban set this condition only to escape from peace talks because they don’t have the authority to participate in peace talks because they are the playing items or toys of ISI.

ISI created Taliban in order to implement its strategy in Afghanistan and in the region and for this reason Taliban have destroyed all the economic and cultural institutions of this country during their regime by the order of ISI.

Therefore if Afghan government want to propose peace talks, so its better to propose it directly to ISI rather than Taliban.
